Ryan Voiland, Red Fire Farm
Ryan Voiland is owner and manager of Red Fire Farm in Granby, Massachusetts, where he grows 40 acres of produce for many different markets including farmers' markets, two farm stands, local wholesale accounts and a 900-member CSA. Red Fire Farm grows a huge variety of crops using season extension practices in order to provide their shareholders with the largest variety of produce for the longest possible season. Ryan is seriously pursuing winter marketing by offering late-season CSA shares through mid-December, selling at a February winter farmers' market, and wholesaling greens and root vegetables right through Jan, Feb. and March. He is also planning a true dead of winter CSA that will begin in the 09/10 winter.
