Eat Maine Foods!

The season for making nocello is almost upon us and I am hoping that someone knows where I can get some green (undeveloped, still in their husks) walnuts. Nocello, for those unfamiliar with it, is an Italian walnut digestivo.
I'll gladly share recipes if anyone is interested and wants to make a batch as well.

Thanks,

Paul

Please send me the recipe. We have alot of walnut trees on our farm in Southern Indiana. Sounds like a fun thing to make. Thanks!

P.S. I have my husband's grandfather's recipe for dandelion wine if you'd like it.

Hi Victoria,

Sorry for taking so long to get back but I have had a personal crisis of sorts and let many things slip. I'm including one recipe and as soon as I finish editing will send you two others... one VERY French... vin de noix... walnut wine.
I'd love the dandelion recipe if you'd be kind enough to send it and also wonder if you would be willing to mail green walnuts to me.

How did you find the group all the way out in Indiana???

Paul

HI, Paul: I am not sure how I found your site. I will send the dandelion wine recipe soon. It's the original recipe that my husband's grandfather handworte and is in a fram in our kitchen. I will check about the green walnuts being shipped.

Hi Paul,
I too would appreciate the walnut recipes. Here in Australia we're still 6 months from Walnut harvest but I'd like to be ready for it when it happens.
Cheers

I'd be interested in anything at all that we can make with our green walnuts. Here in Australia the Cockatoos destroy the friut once it ripens a bit. So we have to beat the birds to our 10 trees and get what we can from the fruit.
Any recipes or ideas would be welcome.
