I've only done a bit of seed-saving over the years but would like to do more. Also, our permaculture group would like to organize a little workshop on some recommended methods for seed saving so that we can all learn more about this important skill.
Can you recommend someone that might be willing/able to come to the Portland area later in the season to lead a workshop for us on seed saving? We would make sure their time/expenses are covered.
Thanks in advance for any direction you can give on this...

I was just asked to cover the Organic Seed Alliance for the MOF&G paper and learned that members of their board (including some fantastic educators) are coming to Maine in July. They are presenting a workshop on seed breeding and saving at a Twilight Farm Meeting on July 31. Either your group could attend or perhaps one of the board members would be interested in doing a workshop with your group. The programs director is Micaela Colley and her number is 360-385-7192. They are in Washington State. Good luck.
I don't see too much posted here recently. Anyone have batches currently going? I'm looking to start a pyment in the near future in addition to some serious bottling. It's been a lazy winter and the carboys are stacking up. Definately time to start…

You could have a fundraiser. I had a dinner to raise money to buy seeds for our plant a row program that goes to the 'veggie connection' at our local pantry. All the food was donated for the beef stew, cole slaw, baked beans, pies, bread you name. I…
Hi Laura,
Thanks for the tip. I am actually on the board of Waldo County Extension. I know about and am
