Eat Maine Foods!

I am trying to organize some forest farming/foraging/mushrooming walks at my property in Washington Maine. I would like to do some Saturday mornings if the interest is there. I am farming my woodlot with indigenous forest trees, plants, bushes, mushrooms etc. I have some cultivars and veg gardening too. Let me know if you have interest. I do have one date already filled on July 19th.

I am also available at times for private and semi private mushroom/foraging walks. See my website. http://mushroom-collecting.com

Thank You David
I have been searching the internet looking for laws pertaining to this but have been unsuccesful until now. Is there a website where I can find more info out about the licensing process and maybe some laws pertaining to foraging on state land and anything else I might need to know. I extremely appreciate your help.
Also do you do any classes or maybe offer an apprenticeship of some sort.
thank you Jason

The rules are still being drafted. There is nothing ready yet. There will be about 2 dozen approved species.

David what is a good source to find out about the laws pertaining to selling mushroom powders and capsules i.e Chaga. I know there are people in Maine that sell a 5 mushroom blend, reishi, and chaga in capsule form. Where would I find the laws pertaining to this and the exsisting laws on selling wild foraged mushrooms. I am also looking for laws petaining to reselling some elses mushroom powders.Any help would be greatly apprciated I am not finding alot of info on this.

I'm not sure but you may need USDA inspection and approval to sell chaga capsules etc.
David is one of the most knowledgeable in the area. I highly recommend checking out his place via a plant/mushroom walk if you can organize it for yourself or your group.

David:

Will you be organizing walks again for 2010? Please let us know. I'd like to attend on or more of them.
