Portland's winter farmers' market started yesterday, with lines of people eagerly awaiting their local eats. This market is based on email orders, which are delivered every other week. Bath does a more traditional market through the winter, and I hear other towns are getting into the winter farmers' market act. Here's what I know about these two markets (from

Sumner Valley Farm
Will offer eggs, pastured poultry, pork and beef.

The Bath Farmers’ Market moves to the Bath United Church of Christ for the winter months. It runs from Nov. 1 through April on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9 am-noon. Farmers sell veggies, meat, cheese, bread and yarn. FMI visit
