Happy to join this group.  I am a member of the Grow L/A Food Hub Task Force looking into the development of a regional food hub in Lewiston Maine centered around the former Bates Mill #5.  Also I am a professional chef and coordinator of Dining Services for Aramark Higher Education at the University of Southern Maine Lewiston Campus.

What is a Food Hub?

A regional food hub is a business or organization that actively manages the aggregation, distribution, and marketing of source-identified food products primarily from local and regional producers to strengthen their ability to satisfy wholesale, retail, and institutional demand.
