Maine Food Map

Welcome to the Maine Food Map! The Eat Local Foods Coalition has developed this map to help consumers and food producers connect. We welcome your feedback and suggestions on how to make this tool as useful as possible.

Search for products or farms near you: For example to find apples within 30 miles, click 'Search', change 'Name' to 'What we Produce/Offer' includes and type apple. Enter 30 miles and your zip code.

Show/Hide Map Categories: Hiding categories that you are not interested in will speed up your viewing/searching experience. Select or hide layers by clicking on items in the legend at the bottom of the map.

The Maine Food Map is accepting new postings, instructions are below.

Add a posting to the Map: Click on Add. Enter the information on each tab. Be sure to select the proper map category. When you click submit, your street address will resolve, click on the address in the pop up to select it. The latitude/longitude will automatically be entered based on your address. If your street is not recognized by Google Maps, you can click on "Map select a location" and place your map pin manually.

Edit a Map Posting: You must open the map in full screen mode to make edits. Click on your posting. An info bubble will appear, click on the business name. The "change entry" window will open and you can make any necessary revisions. Click submit when you are done.

More About the Map: The Maine Food Map is an evolving project. The beta version that is currently available has been created with a very limited budget using free mapping software by ZeeMaps. We have already received many suggestions about functionality that people would like to see added to the map, but at this time there is not funding to support a customized solution.
