Hi amanda - my Carola potatoes are holding out very well. Most of the winter squash has faded (molded) - and the parsnips are a tad soft - but my spuds are still delicious. Roasted some up last night.

The two markets we attend open in May, Mother's Day weekend. This is great for us because we sell perennials and cut flowers. Our markets also have bakers, meats, annuals, and a few farmers with early crops. And to Penobscot - all the markets love t…
Hi Gail,

That would be great! We're still in the early stages of planning, but it's good to have options and Milbridge is a community we would like to work with. Thanks!
The New Gloucester Community Market is still looking for vendors. Email sweethollowsfarm@gmail.com for an application. Every Sunday 11-3, May-Oct. On rt. 100 across from Hodgman's Frozen Custard- great location!
Penobscot East Resource Center, partnered with regional fishermen, has formed a sector to address these very issues. Penobscot East is a non-profit organization based out of Stonington that is working to secure a future for the fishing communities o…
Thank you for the quick response! We have low man power at the moment, but moving inland does make a lot of sense - maybe in the near future we'll have the capacity to make that happen. I'll keep you posted on our progress!
Hi again Penobscot,
Something else to consider about farmers' markets. It always makes sense to go inland with your catch. There is a bit more driving involved, but there is far less local competition, and I know several farmers' Markets that would…
Hi Penobscot,
The most complete list of times, days, locations and starting and ending dates is at the ME Dept of Ag's website: www.getrealmaine.com
You can ask to see only markets in Washington or Hancock county.
Does any one have a list of times and locations for farmers markets from Stonington to Jonesport? Or suggestions for who to contact for this info? Thanks!
