I also thought I would share a project I am working on(http://www.buyingclubsoftware.com/). We hope to have it ready in early 2010, and will be working with the Portland Food Coop to test out our new software specifically made for buying clubs.

- That sounds great. Whenever you are ready, on one of our pickup days, you can tell me what is available and I email it to our group. If people order, then we can get what people order. You could also just show up at a pickup with what you have, and people buy as they like. So whatever works for you is great. The key is doing it on the days we have food pickups.

I want to grow corn for the first time. I live in Bangor with very acidic clay soil. What seed would people recommend? Can I find a seed that is similar to the maize that Native Americans once grew?

For insurance, see your current agent and ask for a liability rider to cover you at farmers' markets.
For permits, see the Maine Dept of Ag permits page for such things as processed foods.
