don't think the medicated chick starter will help, I've never used it and never had a health problem with colds because of it, however, if they are wheezing my feeling is your only home is some antibiotics, even just half a capsule of dog antibiotic…
Sorry to hear you've lost some chicks. Just wondering, are the chicks warm enough? Are they huddled under the light? or overheated? away from the light as much as possible?
best wishes.
thanks bethany and deborah, i have switched them to a medicated chick starter will this suffice? or should they have a tetracycline?
none lost today.... they did start out in our finished basement with an infared light before I moved them up stairs…

Thanks for the advice, fellow Berry! I am a vegetarian, but chickens would be great for eggs if we had space. Unfortunately, we live in a tiny apartment in Portland. We don't have any space outside for planting, & what we have inside is very limited, especially since we have cats that love to munch anything green! In the future we'll have some space for a mini-farm, I hope! Then I'll put your advice to work!
Have never made any of the items you mentioned, nor do I have any sources. I probably am not much help, except that I have a desire to learn. I have just became a vegetarian again after several years of eating meat. However, I think if I could find a local farm that I can trust I would be open to eat beef, pork, chicken in limited quantities.
