- I am a raw vegan chef and teacher and own Rite Food and Company. I teach workshops that focus on intentional and joyful eating and that emphasize consuming locally-grown organic foods. My daughter and I do a weekly podcast called Sweet Peas Podcast and also have a show in the works called Sweet Peas TV! Additionally, I run the Raw Maine Facebook group, which meets for potlucks, lectures, etc.

I want to grow corn for the first time. I live in Bangor with very acidic clay soil. What seed would people recommend? Can I find a seed that is similar to the maize that Native Americans once grew?

For insurance, see your current agent and ask for a liability rider to cover you at farmers' markets.
For permits, see the Maine Dept of Ag permits page for such things as processed foods.
