We run a Community Supported Fishery (CSF) in eastern Maine. Currently we serve the communities in and around Stonington, Blue Hill, Ellsworth and MDI.
Other info about Me (please mention any food, fishing, agriculture, or community groups you are affiliated with):
COMMUNITY FISH is a newly formed CSF, run jointly by Penobscot East Resource Center in Stonington (who ran the shrimp CSF this winter!) and the Northeast Coastal Communities Fishing Sector. The groundfish CSF is an 8-week program that will run from mid May to the end of June 2010. By supporting the CSF customers provide local fishermen with higher to the boat prices and receive the benefits of eating and buying local. The fishermen are using hooks - a traditional and sustainable fishing method intended to reduce bycatch and provide a higher quality product.
