- Rippling Waters / Backyard Organics in Standish is a sustainable community farm, dedicated to serving as an educational and community resource. We believe that everyone deserves access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food.
We grow several acres of certified organic vegetables as well as seedlings, and ornamentals. In addition to the fields and greenhouses at the farm, we host four community gardens – two elementary school gardens and two senior housing project gardens in Steep Falls, Standish and Buxton.
We are committed to mobilizing volunteer labor in order to be able to donate up to 20,000 pounds of our food to local food pantries, and creating greater local food security by teaching volunteers and community members about organic gardening.
Working with volunteers both at the farm and at our off-site gardens enables us to donate produce to the local emergency food system. In addition to the good feeling volunteers get by helping others, working on the farm is a rewarding and challenging experience.
We believe that everyone should have the chance to experience the empowerment of growing their own food!

Rippling Waters / Backyard Organics is a small nonprofit 12 acre vegetable farm and greenhouse operation locate on the banks of the Saco River in Standish, Maine. Currently 5 acres are in production.
